Friday, July 15

Today we drove out toward Moshi, which is a town just below Mount Kilimanjaro (the tallest mountain in Africa). We stopped at Fr. Babu's residence for a quick visit. Fr. Babu is a Spiritan priest who has dedicated his life to serving the Tanzanian people. He really has made a tremendous impact on the community. 



After visiting Fr. Babu, we decided to change plans (due to the clouds we would not have been able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro) and go to the Snake Park instead. We got to have our first hamburger in Africa! Here are pictures of the drive over:


Arusha (the city) is sort of like a rainforest with its tropical plants. 


However, once you leave the city then it sort of turns into what my first thought of Africa was: an open field of dry grass with one or two trees and mountains in the background.
